Frances Schmidt

Frances Schmidt, age 92 of Austintown passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Austinwoods Care Center. Frances was born August 30, 1920 in Campbell, she was the daughter of Stephen and Veronica (Melek) Bryer. Frances was married to Fred W. Schmidt on September 24, 1949 until his death in November 1978. Frances had worked as a house worker and also at G.E. during WWII. She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Youngstown and loved playing bingo. Survivors include her son; Fred J. (Amanda) Schmidt (Austintown), grandson; William Schmidt (Austintown), step-sons; Daniel (Phyllis) Schmidt (Austintown), Roger (Marcia) Schmidt (North Jackson), step-daughters; Dorothy Ellis (Austintown) Barbara (Samuel) Blick (Austintown), Judy (Jack) Proverbs (Canfield), brother; Larry (Eleanor) Bryer with whom she made her home, sister in law; Agnes Ruffier (Louisville), Nephew; Ronald (Sandra) Baker (SC) and several other nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers; Steve, Andrew, William, Edward, and Walter Bryer. Sisters; Sally Jewesak, Cree Baker, Josephine Hendricks and Irene Bryer. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 8th from 5-8pm at Lane Family Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel. A funeral Mass will be held at 10am Tuesday, April 9th at Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Youngstown, Ohio. Interment will be at Green Haven Memorial Gardens.
