A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 11 AM in St. Joseph Church in Austintown for Francis Joseph Voiner, 86, of Youngstown formerly of Flintridge Drive, who passed away Thursday morning in Park Vista Care Center. Francis was born September 13, 1921 in Cleveland the son of Frank N. and Theresa (Uhl) Voiner. He retired in 1980 from Belman Lumber Co. as Branch Manager after 25 years of service and had worked for Ohio Edison from 1980 until 1984. He was a charter member of St. Joseph Church where he was an elected member of its parish council, and appointed chairman of its reach out committee. He also served on the finance committee, served as general chairperson of the council. Francis also served on the Mahoning County Catholic School Planning Board, he was a Poll Judge for the Mahoning County Board of Elections, and an instructor in the 55 alive Mature Driving program of the AARP. His wife the former Elizabeth Pazitka whom he married April 9, 1953 passed away June 5, 2004. He leaves one daughter Barbara Good of Austintown, four grandsons; William and Matthew Good and Michael and Andrew Golec. He also leaves a sister-in-law and brother-in-law; Eleanor and Joseph Di Iorio and a sister-in-law Irene Beres as well as several niece, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, Francis is preceded in death by a daughter Francine Golec. Family and friends may call from 10 to 11 AM Saturday at the church. Arrangements are by Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel. Francis' family would like to extend their gracious thanks to Park Vista and its staff. Over the past few years Francis enjoyed all levels of its unsurpassed services, making friends with the staff and residents, who quickly became like family.
