Frank S. Brzezinski

Frank S. Brzezinski, age 79 of Cortland, Ohio, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2013 at 10:25 PM at Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home in Howland. He was born on November 30, 1934 in Warren, Ohio, the son of the late John and Thedosia Kujawa Brzezinski. He attended grade school and Warren Harding High School. Frank worked at Downtown Motors Oldsmobile for 28 years and then took a job as a custodian at the Bazetta and Cortland Schools. He retired in 1990. He was an avid fisherman and often times went to Canada with his brothers and friends. He loved sports and was a big fan of the Cleveland Browns and Indians. Survivors include his wife, the former Mary Lou Ondra, whom he married on August 30, 1972; three children, Karrie (Richard) Bebb of Streetsboro, Todd (Joanne) Brzezinski of Cortland, and Eric Brzezinski of San Diego, California; three grandchildren, Monica of Niles and Christina and John of Tallmadge; also many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are six sisters, Dorothy Scarnecchia of Niles, Frances Bilas of Youngstown, Mary Ann Sheptock of Massachusetts, Hariett Thullen of Orwell, Josephine Reinard of Niles, and Kathryn Brzezinski of Cortland. Other than his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his two sisters, Stella Rudy, and Jennie Derskovic; and six brothers, Anthony, Joseph, John, William, Walter, and Leonard. A memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, December 27, 2013 at St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church in Cortland, where family and friends may gather one hour prior to the Mass. Rev. Carl Kish will celebrate Frank's life. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel in Cortland.
