Franklin "Frank" R. Paynter

AUSTINTOWN- Franklin "Frank" R. Paynter, 80, passed away Friday, April 7, 2017 at Hospice House in Poland, OH. He was born on June 9, 1936 in St. Marys, West Virginia, son to the late Raymond F. and Amy V. (Noland) Paynter. Frank proudly served his country in the United States Army. After his service he became a master carpenter and moved to Washington D.C. to work for the Department of Defense for 30 years, retiring in 1992. After retiring, Frank moved to Austintown where he joined West Side Baptist Church, later merging with Calvary Baptist Church. Frank enjoyed being a part of the Christian Clown ministry and he was also an ordained deacon. He was a member of the Civitan Group in Maryland, serving handicap children. Left to cherish Frank's memory is his loving wife of 55 years, Donna Paynter, whom he married on May 6, 1961. Frank is also survived by his children, Connie (Kevin) Sharer, Denise (Mike) Peterson, and Stephen (Angelia) Paynter; foster children, Tina (Randi) Snee, Darlene (Reed) Engdahl, and Sam (Liz) Snee; his 19 grandchildren; his brothers, James, Larry, and John Paynter; and his sisters, Janet Factura, and Linda Davis. In addition to his parents, Frank is preceded in death by his foster daughter, Sandra Snee, and his siblings, Ronald Paynter, Judith Habbard, and Virginia Rae Albaneso. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 11 from 4PM to 7PM at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave. Calling hours will also take place on Wednesday, April 12 from 10AM to 11AM at Calvary Baptist Church 1463 Shields Rd., where a funeral service will follow at 11AM.
