Frederick L. Palmer, 64 of Warren died Sunday morning, December 14, 2008 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Born June 19, 1944 in Sharon PA, he was the son of the late Francis and Florence (Meckler) Palmer. A graduate of Brookfield H.S. Fred earned an Associate of Engineering Degree from Youngstown State University and was employed by Toys R Us as a supervisor. He attended Believer's Christian Fellowship church and was a NASCAR fan. Fred was very handy and enjoyed completing home improvement projects. He was an advocate for all animals and will be missed by his two favorite pet companions Chance a St. Bernard and Kizze and Chow mix. Most notably, Fred was a recipient of the 2007 Trumbull County Shining Star Award for his heroic measures in saving the lives of a family of seven and their pets from their burning home last December. Fred will be dearly missed by his beloved wife Barbara (Boal) Palmer whom he married Dec. 21, 1974. Together they shared 33 years of marriage and a daughter Jenifer Leafdale of Henderson, NV and two grandsons Tyler and Trevor Leafdale also of NV. He was preceded in death by a brother Angelo Palmer. According to Fred's wishes he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008 at 5PM at the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel. Family and friends may visit from 3 to 5PM. The Rev. William Carter will officiate. In lieu of flowers, material contributions may be made in Fred's memory to the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County at 545 Brunstetter Road SW Warren, OH 44481
