A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10am Wednesday at St. Christine Catholic Church in Youngstown for Frederick P. “Fritz” Freisen, 80, who died late Saturday night at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown. He was born April 9, 1929 in Youngstown, a son of Frederick J. and Dorothy M. (O’Brien) Freisen, and he resided in this area all of his life. He was a 1947 graduate of Ursuline High School. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean War from 1951-1955. He had worked as a traffic signal and fire alarm technician for the city of Youngstown for 33 years before retiring in the late 1980’s. He was a member of St. Christine Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Korean War Veterans Association, VFW Post 93, and American Legion Post 732. He also enjoyed bowling and was very proud that he once rolled a perfect 300 game. He is survived by his wife, the former Janet E. Terlecky, whom he married October 7, 1972. He also leaves behind two daughters; Amy (Brian) Aurandt of Austintown, and Holly (Greg) Potters of Natick, Mass; one granddaughter Victoria Aurandt; a brother James (Betty) Freisen of Ashtabula; and a sister Margaret “Peggy” McBride of Canfield. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends may call from 6-8pm Tuesday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel.
