NORTH JACKSON- There are no services or calling hours scheduled for Frederick V. Nolan, 89, of North Jackson, who passed away at 12:45PM Sunday, August 27, 2006 in St. Mary’s Alzheimer’s Care Center in Columbiana. Fred was born December 11, 1916 Girard, Ohio and was the son of the late Fred G. and Anna (Vitus) Nolan. Fred was a high school graduate in West Newton, PA and attended Auction School and was an auctioneer in Middlefield and all over the country for Reimold Bros. Fred retired in 1978 from Conrail Railroad after working for 37 years as an engineer. Fred was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II as a staff sergeant. Fred received the American Theater Ribbon, EAME Theater Ribbon with 2 bronze stars, Good Conduct Medal, and the Victory Medal World War II. Fred was discharged from the army on April 16, 1946. Fred was of the catholic faith and attended St. James Church in North Jackson. He was a former member of St. Mary’s and Christ Our King Catholic Churches in Warren. Fred was past president of the UTU for the railroad and enjoyed railroading, flying and auctioneering. Fred is survived by his wife of 65 years the former Evelyn M. Besore whom he married on May 20, 1941 in St. Mary Catholic Church in Warren, a son Timothy “Tim” (Eleanor) at home; and a brother James O. of Suttersville, PA. Family entrusted caring arrangements to the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel. In Lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made in Fred’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association 3695 Boardman-Canfield Rd. Suite 301B. Canfield, Ohio 44406.
