Youngstown- Garry S. Grossen, 62, of Youngstown, passed away August 13, 2014 at the Cleveland Clinic. Garry was born February 7, 1952 in Youngstown, son of Ralph and Mary (Harris) Grossen. He retired from Republic Steel Truscon Division after over 20 years of service. After retirement he worked in the parts dept at Greenwood Chevrolet in Austintown for 12 years. When not working, he enjoyed his two dogs, Buffy and Jessica as well as his cat Beaver. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and Browns. As a child he played Austintown Little League and football for the West Side Colts 105 lb. division. Garry was survived by one son, Jeffrey Grossen; three grandchildren, Jeffrey , Kayla and Skylar; his longtime companion's daughter, Sharri Smith; and her children, Aubrey and Karley; five brothers and sisters, Nancy (Edward) Burrows, Ralph (Joanne) Grossen, Jr., Kathy (Ronald) Meyers, Lori (Donald) Shobel and William Grossen; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; longtime companion, Mary Lynn Rosko; brother, Robert Grossen and a nephew, Patrick Grossen. Calling hours will be Sunday from 6-8 PM at the Lane Family Funeral Homes Austintown Chapel 5897 Mahoning Ave, Austintown, where the funeral will also be held Monday at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at the St. Johns Cemetery.
