Gary C. Cunningham

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel, for Gary C. Cunningham, 69 of Diamond, who went home to be with his Lord on April 8, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Boardman, with his loving family by his side. Gary was born April 9, 1947 in Youngstown, the son of the late Clyde and Edna (Stanley) Cunningham. He was a graduate of Austintown Fitch High School class of 1965 and had attended Youngstown State University. Gary worked in forklift sales and was the owner and operator of Diamond Equipment until his retirement in 2010. Gary was an active member of Deerfield Evangelical Friends Church where he was an overseer of the church and enjoyed teaching the youth of the church as a Sunday School teacher or a part of the Bible School. He enjoyed horses, country music and playing the harmonica. Most of all Gary loved spending time with his family and friends and attending all of his grandchildren's sporting events. Gary leaves his wife of 48 years, the former Gloria Jeanne Dixon, whom he married August 10, 1968, three daughters, Lori (Barry) Sapp, Tammi (Karl) Mesaros and Krissy (Chris) Crooks all of Deerfield, ten grandchildren, Garrett, Allison, Santana, Eric, Jesse, Justin, Jaidyn, Spencer, Elizabeth, and Dominic. Gary also leaves two brothers, Dick (Judy) Cunningham of Amsterdam, OH., and Bob (Dee) Cunningham of Winter Haven FL., one sister Kay (Jim) Mills of Austintown, as well as his brother-in-law Ralph (Mary) Dixon, and sister-in-law Vickie Schrader both of Austintown, and several nieces and nephews and many honorary grandchildren. Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Friday and again from 9 to 10 AM Saturday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, where services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday. In lieu of flowers the family requests donation be made to Deerfield Evangelical Friends Church for the youth activities in Gary's name.
