Gayle A. Miller

Funeral services will be held at 7pm Friday in the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Gayle A. Miller, 73, who died late Monday night at the Hospice House in Poland. She was born February 1, 1936 in Woodworth, now Poland, a daughter of Laurence A. and Harriet B. (McCullough) Brenneman , and she resided in this area all of her life. She was a 1954 graduate of Boardman High School. She worked as a toll collector for the Ohio Turnpike at gates 218 and 234 for 35 years before retiring in 2008. She enjoyed bowling, camping, and doing ceramic work at Creative Ceramics. She was known for her delicious baking and for her zest for life and she will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Her first husband, Joseph Evinsky, whom she married February 12, 1955 preceded her in death December 4, 1971. She is survived by her husband John R. Miller, whom she married April 28, 1975. She also leaves behind three children; Heidi Jo (Joseph) Duarte of Youngstown; Joseph (Laurie) Evinsky, II of Eastlake; and Jason (Jody) Evinsky of Struthers; eleven grandchildren; Joshua, Rachael, Chad, Hallie, Tyler, Ellen, Cassandra, Trevor, Emily, AshLeigh, and Jason, II; a great granddaughter; Rylee Jo; two sisters; Yvonne Beckwith of Warren and Marilyn Clevinger of Austintown; a stepbrother Stan (Nancy) Thompson of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and four sisters-in-law; Carol Roby of Uniontown, Pa; Eleanore (Steve) Evinsky of Niles; Elizabeth (Sonny) Slusher of Niles; and Carol (Pete) Evinsky of Rochester, Ny. Besides her first husband she was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers; Arwood, Roland, and James Brenneman. Friends may call from 3-7pm Friday at the funeral home with services immediately following. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley.
