Gayle A.Nevin Garvey Martin

Gayle A. Nevin Garvey Martin, age 68 of Cortland, Ohio, died on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at 1:15 PM at her home. She was born on April 18, 1945 in Meadville, PA, the daughter of the late Oliver Eugene and Charlene Le Comte Nevin. Gayle was a 1963 graduate of Howland High School and obtained her LPN and worked and retired as a Nurse from O'Brien Nursing Home. During her career, she was a Treatment Nurse. She liked to work word puzzles and she loved cinnamon hard candy. Survivors include her children, Michelle of Hermitage, PA and Robert Lee Garvey, Sr. of Greenville, PA; her grandchildren, Matthew Totin, Miranda Trepasso, and Mason Shaffer, Robert Lee Garvey, Jr., Dakota Garvey, and Amanda Garvey; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Rombold of PA and Vivian Farnham of Phoenix, AZ; several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Also surviving is her longtime companion, with whom she lived, James Edward Bell; and her lifelong close friends, Linda Bumgardner, and Joyce and James Garvey. Other than her parents, Gayle is preceded in death by her grandson, Bryan Totin and great-granddaughter, Aliyah Totin and brother Murray Eugene Nevin. Family and friends may gather at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel in Cortland from 5-7 PM, Friday, June 21, 2013. Funeral services will take place at noon on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the funeral home. Following services Gayle will be cremated and she will be buried in the Howland Township Cemetery.
