Austintown--Geneva Anne Peck (Hankey) 78 of Austintown, Ohio passed away peacefully after a valiant battle with cancer, at Hospice of The Valley in Poland, Ohio, on Friday, June 26, 2015. Her loving family surrounded her. Geneva was born on February 11, 1937, in Butler, PA, the daughter of Francis May and William Harold Hankey. After the death of her mother, Geneva stepped into the role of matriarch at a young age and raised her six younger siblings. Being a mother became Geneva's calling throughout her entire life. She raised her own children and helped raise all of her grandchildren; this was Geneva's greatest joy. She is survived by siblings; William Hankey, Barbara Cox, Butch (Barb) Hankey and Kathy (Jim) Turnbull. Nancy Swingle and Tom Hankey also precede her in death. Geneva is survived by her four children; Richard Peck, Gary (Kelly) Peck, Michelle (Kevin) Brocious and Dale Peck Jr. Geneva was the proud Nana to her six grandchildren; Nichole, Ashley, Kayla, Jolynn, Gary and Sammantha as well as her two great grandchildren, RJ and Zander. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Geneva's happiness came from her family, friends, and her strong faith. Geneva was selfless, strong, and had the kindest heart. She truly touched everyone's life she came across. Geneva was our "Angel" here on earth, and has gone to be an Angel of the Lord. We are forever grateful for the impact she left on every one of our lives. Family and friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, June 30th at the Lane Family Funeral Home Austintown Chapel. A Catholic service in honor of Geneva will take place at St. Angela Merici at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 1st.
