George John Nicula Jr. --48 Austintown—Services will be at 1 PM Saturday in the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for George John Nicula Jr. George passed away Wednesday afternoon at his residence following a lengthy courageous battle with liver disease. His loving family and friends surrounded him in his final hours. George was born on January 22, 1956 in Fowler, Ohio a son of George John and Joan Ann (Burke) Nicula Sr. He was a 1974 Graduate of Austintown Fitch High School and was of the catholic faith having attended Immaculate Heart of Mary School. He participated in the Austintown Little League Association as a player and later as a coach. He was employed at Steego Auto Parts and Astro Shapes until the time of his illness. George is survived by his wife, the former Jacky Lee Crum whom he married July 17, 1981. Two sons, George John III and Tyler Michael both at home, one daughter Joey Marie Evanko and her fiancé Christopher Zysk of Youngstown, twin grandsons, Jonathen and Damien Kern-Nicula, a brother Larry Nicula and a sister Melanie Hartman both of Youngstown. George also leaves his special caregiver and family friend Lisa Carson-Rodgers. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Elizabeth Nicula and a brother Gary Nicula who died in infancy. Calling hours will be 7 to 9 PM this evening and from noon to 1 PM Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
