Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Monday at Lane Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel for George Murray who passed away Thursday afternoon at his home. George was born October 4, 1914, in Niles a son of the late George and Euphemia (Sterling) Murray Sr. He was a machine operator for National Gypsum in Niles retiring in 1980 after 43 years of service. He was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church in Niles and enjoyed golfing and bowling in his younger days. His wife, the former Amelia Mae Sisco, whom he married in 1936, passed away April 14, 1980. George will be sadly missed by a daughter Betty Sue Redmond of Youngstown; two sisters: Kate Wallace of Youngstown and Dorothy Thompson of Howland; two grandchildren: Richard Jones of Kennisaw, GA and Cynthia Poe of Austintown; two great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. Besides his parents and wife, George is preceded in death by a daughter Margaret Jordan and three sisters: Margaret Ainsworth, Christine Minotti, and Mae Sonderman. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Grace Hospice in George's name. Friends may call from 1 pm until 3 PM Sunday at the Lane Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel.
