Boardman- Funeral services will be held at 11 am Tuesday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for George Paget who died Friday morning at Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home in Niles. George was born June 27, 1925 in Youngstown the son of George H. and Maude (Ernest) Paget and was a life long area resident. George retired from Republic Steel after 38 years of employment, after his retirement he worked for the Mahoning County Law Library Association until 2007. He was a member of Heritage Presbyterian Church and formerly a member of the former John Calvin Church where he had sung in the choir. George proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII, as a 3rd Class Petty officer on the Intrepid Aircraft Carrier. He was a Member of the U.S.S. Intrepid in WWII and a former VFW Post #7587 member. He is survived by his children; Joy (John) Clapp of Austintown, Christine (Adam) Wais of Canton, Michigan, step-daughters; Linda (Frank) Pack and LuAnn (John) Weaver both in Pennsylvania. He also leaves his grandchildren; Nathan Clapp, Alanna Clapp, Melissa Clapp, Vincent Clapp, Heidi Yanak, J.D. Lavery, Lindsey Pack, Jason Weaver and four great grandchildren. George was preceded in death by his first wife, Gloria Mae (Opsitnik) Paget in 1968, his second wife Peggy Lou (Chadderton) Paget in 1998, brother Thomas Paget and his grandson John Christopher Clapp. Family and friends may call from 5-8 pm Monday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel.
