George R Protain

Girard- George R. Protain, 84, who passed away Friday, April 25, 2008 at his residence. George was born Oct. 25, 1923 in Youngstown, OH the son of the late George and Myrtle Protain. He married Mary Louise Cronk Protain on June 23, 1943. She passed away in May of 2001. Mr. Protain worked for US Steel for many years. He is survived by, 4 children, Judith and her husband Stephen Rosenberg of Cortland, OH, Diane and Edward Hearrell of Kinsman, OH, Edward Protain with whom George made his home, and Debra and her husband Allan Miles of Youngstown, OH; 2 sisters, Betty and Joan both of Portland, Oregon; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sons, George and David Protain; 2 sisters, Mildred Campbell, and Lucille Brogley. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date to celebrate his life. Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel handled the arrangements.
