George Stewart

George Kline Stewart, age 88, of Bazetta Twp., died on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at St. Joseph Health Care Center in Warren. He was born on July 23, 1924, in Ridgeway, PA., the son of the late George W. Stewart and the late Delcene P. Kline Stewart. George worked as a telephone repairman for 37 years, retiring from the United Telephone Co. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and archery. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Monnin Stewart, whom he married on June 4, 1947; a son, George A. Stewart of Bazetta, daughter, Valerie (Robert) Windle of Southington and a sister, Margaret Rosenberg of PA. Also surviving are two grandsons, Shawn and Ryan Windle. Per George's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel in Cortland.
