Georgetta Leonhart

There will be funeral services 10:30 AM Monday at Lane Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel for Georgetta Leonhart of Austintown who passed away Wednesday afternoon at her daughter’s home. Georgetta was born January 14, 1922 in Mineral Ridge a daughter of the late Thomas and Mildred (Chambers) Whittaker. She was an active member of the Mineral Ridge Church of Christ, a volunteer for the Diabetes Education Department at St. Elizabeth Health Center, and a member of the Youngstown Diabetes support group. Georgetta enjoyed collecting receipe books, and more specifically enjoyed being together with her family and friends. Georgetta and her husband, Harold, loved vacationing and traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe in their 61 years together. Her husband Harold whom she married February 11, 1943 passed away on December 8, 2004. Georgetta is survived by her daughter Kay Leonhart of Austintown; one sister Connie Mowery of Mineral Ridge, and one brother Donald Whittaker of Mineral Ridge. Besides her parents and husband, two brothers Ralph and Glenn Whittaker precede Georgetta in death. Friends may call from 1:00 – 4:00 PM Sunday at the Lane Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel. The family requests that material contributions be made to St. Elizabeth Health Center Diabetes Education Department.
