Gerald Raymond Jewel Sr.

Sharon Gerald R. Jewel Sr., 73, passed away Saturday morning, April 2, 2016 at UPMC Passavant in Pittsburgh, PA. Gerald was born on October 18, 1942 in Masury, OH, a son of the late Robert Jewel and Viola (King) Jewel. He was a 1961 graduate of Brookfield High School. After high school he married his loving wife, Jacqueline Jewel on March 17, 1965. He found employment at Sharon Steel as a Laborer for 28 years until he retired in 1993. He coached Patagonia Little League for 15 years and served as Vice President. He was also an avid Cleveland Sports Fan. Gerald will be deeply missed by his wife, Jacqueline Jewel, whom he shared 51 years of marriage with; his son, Gerald "Buzzy" Jewel Jr. of Sharpsville, PA; and his brother, Robert (Irene) Jewel of Sharpsville, PA. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers, Bill, Eddie, and Ernie Jewel; and his five sisters, Sarah Black, Arlene Spohn, Alice Mae Withrow, Helen Evans, and Eleanor Spohn. Funeral services for Gerald will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 11:00AM at Lane Family Funeral Homes Madasz Chapel located at 6923 Warren-Sharon Road Brookfield, OH 44403, with Randi Papa as celebrant. Family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday April 5, 2016 from 6-7:00PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Brookfield Township Cemetery.
