Cortland-Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday at the Lane Funeral Home-Mineral Ridge Chapel for Gerald Scott age 69 of 3338 D Eagles Loft who died late Monday evening at his home. Jerry was born Feb. 25, 1934 in Washington County, Virginia and was the son of Winfield and Ruth (Stein) Scott Sr.. He retired in April 1996 from E. J. DeBartolo Corp. after 35 years where he had been Vice-President of Management Services. Jerry was president of the Woodland Trails Condo Assoc. a graduate of William King High School in Abingdon, Virginia where he had been a student band director. He loved camping, was a NASCAR fan, was a handyman, loved music and was an accomplished musician and served in the U.S. Army. Jerry is survived by four sisters Nyla (Frank) Richards-Best of Austintown, Ruth Davis of Warren, Scotti Henderson of Girard, Karen (Robert) Taylor of E. Greenwich, RI, two brothers Joel (Jean) Scott of Niles, Winfield (Shelva) Scott Jr. of Plant City, FL and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother James Scott. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 PM Thursday.
