April 9, 1952 — December 28, 2010

April 9th 1952 Gerald Wayne Dierkes the son of Robert William Dierkes 63' and Verenie Julia May Himes 84' was born in Youngstown OH. Known as Jerry he is servived by his brother Robert (Karen) Dierkes of Oak Creek, CO, and a sister Beverly Dierkes of Clarion OH. He leaves behind three grown children; daughter Jessica James of Struthers, OH, a son Wesley Dierkes of Lisbon, OH, and daughter Elaine Dierkes of Poland, OH. He also leaves one beautiful grandchild; Julia James, one niece Marisa (Scott) Middleton, and his beloved girlfriend; Katrina Armeni of Mineral Ridge, OH. Shortly after high school in Canfield he went on to serve our country in Vietnam in the United States Air Force K-9 Corp. Jerry went on to work at GM of Lordstown and then onto become a skilled tradesman in the Ohio Carpenters Union where he would retire. His interests include a deep love for horses, he watched all "bang-bang shoot 'em up" westerns, he loved the Cleveland Browns and Jimmy Johnson #48 of NASCAR. Hel also loved "American Muscle Cars" and Harley Davidson motorcycles. A fan of classic Rock-n-Roll, as a U.S. Veteran, Jerry was a true American! A rebel with a free spirit that has touched many lives. Dad, your friends miss you, your family loves you and you will always be in our hearts, rest in eternal peace XOXOXO. Family and friends may call from 1 to 3 PM Sunday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel. The celebration of Jerry's life will then continue at Mikes Lounge in Austintown with a friendly gathering which will follow his calling hours to honor him. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley 5190 Market Street, Youngstown Ohio 44512 in Jerry's name
