Geraldine R. Schaeffer

Austintown—Services will be 10:30 am Saturday in Austintown Community Church for Geraldine R. Schaeffer, 87, of Austintown who passed away Wednesday evening in Omni Manor. Geraldine was born April 18, 1919 in Youngstown, the daughter of Carl and Elva (Davis) Reiter. She worked as a hostess with Welcome Wagon, making home visits to new families in the area until the 70’s. She was a member of the church, the Ruth Circle and Christ Care Group, Welcome Wagon 5th Wheel, Protestant Family Service, The Youngstown Book Review Club, and a Salvation Army Volunteer. Geraldine’s husband Paul S. Schaeffer, whom she married February 19, 1944 passed away in 1990. She leaves four children; Paul David (Darla) Schaeffer of Cape Coral Fl, Susan G. (Ron) Kunkle of Mechanicsburg PA, James E. (Beverly) Schaeffer of Peoria AZ, and Robert N. (Aneda) Schaeffer of Austintown, one sister Janet E. (Bill) Bowser of Poland, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Besides her husband Paul, she is preceded in death by a brother Robert C. Reiter.
