Gertrude H Schmidt

Brookfield Gertrude H. Schmidt, 89, passed away Wednesday March 25, 2015 at O'brien Memorial Health Care. Gertrude was born on May 17, 1925 in Germany, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kuscherus. She was formerly from Germany before moving to the United States in 1952. She enjoys gardening and baking during the holidays. She also loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Gertrude will be deeply missed by her children, Herbert (Mimi) Schmidt of Sharon, PA, Edward Schmidt of Brookfield, PA, Helga Kirkey of Michigan, Ingrid Kostra of Masury, OH, Christa (Dan) Bielobockie of Brookfield, OH, and Lora (David) McFarland of Kinsman, OH; her daughter in law Betsy Schmidt; 14 grandchildren; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jakob Schmidt whom she married September of 1951, her two sons Norbert and Harold Schmidt; and one grandson Jacob Schmidt. Funeral services for Gertrude will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 11:00AM at Lane Family Funeral Homes Madasz Chapel located at 6923 Warren Sharon Road Brookfield, OH 44403. Friends and family may call on Friday March 27, 2015 from 4-7:00PM at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Brookfield Township Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
