Gilbert D. Creed of 8076 Idaho Street, Masury, Ohio, died on Monday (4-30-2007) in Clepper Manor, Sharon, Pennsylvania following an extended illness. He was 84. Mr. Creed was born in Coitsville, Ohio on May 10, 1922, a son of George A. and Nellie J. (Walker) Creed. A 1941 graduate from Sharon High School, Gilbert went on to serve our country in the U.S. Army Air Corp. during WWII. Mr. Creed retired from Westinghouse Electric in 1982 after 37 years as a Coil Winder & Inspector. He was a member of the Hartford United Methodist Church, Hartford, Ohio; American Legion, & Italian Club, both in Farrell, PA, where he loved to play Bocce Ball. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing & bowling. Survivors include: his wife, Dorothy A. (Delgros) Creed, whom he married October 25, 1941; his sons, Dennis Creed, Liberty Twp., OH, Jack Creed & his wife Donna, Masury, OH, and Gary Creed & his wife Amy, Hermitage, PA; his sister, Mabel Brewer, Hermitage, PA; his grandchildren who he loved spending time with, Jennifer, Michael, Matthew, and Allyssa; and his great-grandson, Blake. He was preceded in death by his parents; by his brother, Fred Creed; and by his sister, Margaret Secrist. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at the Madasz Funeral Chapel, Brookfield, Ohio, with Rev. Jay Eastman, Chaplain of the Hospice of the Valley.
