Gilbert L. Kupelian

March 25, 1925 — August 30, 2006

There will be a memorial service held at 4 PM Saturday at the West Congregation, Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 550 N. Four Mile Run Road, for Gilbert L Kupelian, 79, who passed away Wednesday at his home with his family at his bedside. Gilbert was born March 25, 1927 in Youngstown the son of George and Marie (Chumita) Kupelian. He was a member of the January 1945 graduating class of Chaney High School and was the owner / operator of Gil’s Barber Shop until his retirement in 1999. Gilbert was an active member of the Kingdom Hall since 1941 serving as a congregation elder for many years. Gil loved spending time with his grandchildren and being with his family, he was an avid bible reader and enjoyed sharing his bible based hope about the future with others. He also enjoyed fishing and gardening. He leaves his wife of 54 years, the former Genevieve Massaro whom he married June 21, 1952. He also leaves three children; Heather (Robert) Crum of Diamond, Jeanine (Eric) Tanner of Canfield, and Mark (Sara) Kupelian of Atlanta GA, Five grandchildren; Jason (Aimee) Crum, Jared Crum, Lauren, Garrett and Brooke Tanner, one sister Bertille Kupelian of Kingwood W. Va, and one brother Darrel Kupelian of Springerville, AZ. Gil also leaves two aunts; Helen Teachout of Cortland and Irene Johnson of Hermitage. Besides his parents Gilbert is preceded in death by a daughter Cyndi Kupelian and a sister Marlyn Kraynak, one Aunt Priscilla Cene and one Uncle Emil Chumita. Family and friends may call from 3 to 4 PM Saturday at the Kingdom Hall. Arrangements are by the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel.
