Gladys Irene Pittman

Gladys Irene Pittman, age 83, of Bristolville, died peacefully on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at her residence with her family by her side. She was born on December 19, 1928, in Gatewood, WV, a daughter of the late Ed Lawhorn and the late Bessie Miranda Lawhorn. Gladys worked most of her life as a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed gardening, reading and both traveling and camping with her late husband. She married Harold E. Pittman on December 14, 1947 and was preceded in death by him on November 13, 2001. Gladys is survived by two daughters, Carolyn (Douglas) Benson of Bristolville and Lisa (Glenn) Hale of Garrett, IN, a sister, Faye (Gene) McKean of Nevada and five grandchildren, Steven (Caralee) Jarrett, Michael (Nikki) Jarrett, C.J. (Ashley) Maley, Teresa (Mark) Webb and Stephanie Maley. Also surviving are four great grandchildren, Seth, Tyler and Brooke Jarrett, Jakob and Kaitlin Webb. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Virginia Howk, Dorothy Dick, Hazel Clendenin, Betty Bailey and Myrtle Hagee, as well as a brother, Lewis Lawhorn. The family will receive friends, on Monday, March 19, 2012 from 10AM 11AM at the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel in Warren. Services will be held on Monday at 11AM at the funeral home with the Rev. Roger Norton officiating. Burial will be in the Sager Memorial Cemetery in Bristolville. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Ohio's Choice Hospice, 1520 East Market St., Warren, OH 44483.
