Gladys Loreen Swarm, age 96 of Warren, died at 9:35 a.m. Friday, August 27, 2010, at Windsor House of Champion. She was born September 6, 1913 in Wooster the daughter of the late Roscoe Levi and Aetna Sarah Meier Young. She moved to Trumbull county with her husband in 1943. Gladys was a 1931 graduate of Wooster High School. She then graduated from Wooster Business College. Gladys worked for the Wayne County treasurer's office for 10 years and then worked for 3 years at the Warren draft board. She was a homemaker most of her married life. Gladys was a longtime member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading, writing and journal keeping and loved politics and political commentary television shows. Her husband, Charles Henry Swarm whom she married December 19, 1942, preceded in death in 1979. Her daughter, Linda S. Thompson preceded in death on March 23, 2009; one sister, Wava Johnson and two brothers, Ray and Don Young also have preceded her in death. Gladys is survived by one son, Larry L. Swarm of Warren; her son-in-law, Lyle C. Thompson of Warren; five grandchildren, Julie Thompson, Matthew Thompson, Heidi Thompson, Mark (Gwyn) Thompson and Dana (Shawn) Tarnoci; four great grandchildren, Nika and Zeke Thompson and Parker and Alaina Tarnoci and one sister, Dorothy Smith of Wooster. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel in Warren, where the family will receive friends from 4 - 5:30 p.m. on Monday and 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Entombment will be at Pineview Cemetery Mausoleum in Warren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
