Private services were held for Gladys M. Pugh, 81, of Canfield, formerly of Boardman, who passed away Sunday morning, February 12, 2006 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Gladys was born August 26, 1924 in Youngstown, the daughter of Franklin Sr. and Frances (Lobinger) Hughes, and was a life long area resident. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her home and Family were her main priorities and source of enjoyment. Gladys enjoyed arts and crafts, crocheting, and playing cards with her ladies card club. Her husband George Pugh, whom she married January 4, 1944 passed away in February of 1984. Gladys leaves one daughter Patricia and her husband Bill McKenzie of Canfield, one granddaughter Cindy (Michael) Torres Essell, one brother Franklin Hughes Jr. and his companion Ray Stranman. She also leaves her companion of 20 years Chester Welty, two nieces; Nancy (Bob) Hettrick and Barb (Ben) Cappar of Florida, and two nephews; Pete (Carol) Scannell and Jay Scannell. There were no calling hours. Arrangements were by Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel.
