AUSTINTOWN-----Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday at the Tabernacle Evangelical Presbyterian Church for Grace A. McKenzie, 82 of Austintown who passed away Sunday morning in Forum Health, Northside. Grace was born July 16, 1920 in Youngstown, the daughter of Maxmillon Carl and Anna Catherine (Miller) Horne and was a lifelong area resident. Grace had worked in the Accounting Dept. for Republic Rubber 5 years and had also worked for the Automatic Sprinkler Co. She was a member of the Foster Memorial Presbyterian Church 70 years, the church’s F.H..C. Circle and was also a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. Grace was also a member of the Tabernacle Evangelical Presbyterian Church 9 years and was the head coordinator for the Prayer Chain. Grace was a 1938 graduate of South High School. She was also a charter member of the TOPS-STARS. Grace was an avid reader and enjoyed many hobbies including cross-stitching and needlepoint. She also loved playing cards, especially bridge. Her husband, William Simon McKenzie, whom she married Aug. 23, 1947, passed away Nov. 15, 1978. She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Maureen Meehan of Austintown, stepsons, Dan McKenzie of New Waterford, OH, and Bill McKenzie of Anchorage, AL, two sisters, Ruth Wayland of Canfield and Elaine Dory-Cain of Boardman. A son, Mark McKenzie preceded her in death. Grace is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Deron McKenzie Meehan of Austintown, Michael McKenzie of Lisbon, Christine Gavin of Littleton, Colorado, Andrew McKenzie of Cranberry, PA, Kerry Gorichky Kampfer of Lisbon and Frank Gorichky of Leetonia and 9 great grandchildren. Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at the Lane Funeral, Austintown Chapel and from 10 to 11 AM Thursday at the church. The family requests that memorial contributions take the form of donations to the Tabernacle Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Austintown, OH 44515
