Grace E. Briceland, 79 years, of Hunters Woods and formerly of Berlin Station Rd., dies Friday evening at St. Elizabeth's Health Center in Boardman of complication from a lengthy illness with family beside her. The daughter of the late John and Grace McVeigh, she was born on July 31, 1932, in Toronto and moved to Wellsville. A graduated of Wellsville High School in 1951, she moved to Canfield in 1953 with her husband, Charles W. Briceland Sr. She treasured her family, had strong values and was always there for her children's needs. She was a Eucharistic Minister and member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish at St. James Church in North Jackson, VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 9571 in Ellsworth and a member of the Operating Engineers Local 66 retirees. She was preceded in death in 1996 by her husband, Charles "Chuck" Briceland, whom she married October 24, 1953. She is survived by her sons: Charles W. Briceland Jr. and his wife, Judy of Canfield; and Ryan A. Briceland of Bakersfield, CA; and one daughter, Karen S. Marra and her husband, Frank, of Ellsworth; one brother, Thomas L. McVeigh; five grandchildren; and one great grandchild. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Donald McVeigh and a sister Jean Ann Burch. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10:30 AM Tuesday at Our Lady of the Lakes Parish at St. James Church. Interment will be in Ellsworth Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 pm until 7 pm Monday at Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel, where closing prayers will be offered at 9:30 am Tuesday. A family and friends gathering will be held immediately afterwards at the VFW Hall in Ellsworth.
