Canfield-Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Thursday, May 26, 2005 in the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel for Greg J. Clay, 34 of S. Raccoon Rd in Canfield, who passed away Sunday at his home. Greg was born in Youngstown, OH and was the son of Harry Clay and Rebecca (Williams) Showman, and lived in the area all of his life. He was a loyal friend and generous person who brought smiles and laughter to everyone. Greg was a self employed general contractor for Clay Construction in Canfield and was in the 1989 Class at Canfield High School. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, particularly his children. He enjoyed fishing, camping, horses, baseball, cooking, and gardening. Greg was a skilled mechanic and carpenter as well as an avid steeler’s fan and monopoly player. Greg will be sadly missed by his father and stepmother, Harry and Lynette (Hoffmaster) Clay, his mother and stepfather Rebecca and Keith Showman of Coitsville; his children, Alexander Joseph Clay, and Cory Joseph Clay of Boardman and Mackenzie Ann Clay of Palm Harbor, Florida; one sister Tracy Blakeman of Boardman and his longtime girlfriend Terry Orechoneg of Canfield. Greg also leaves his step brother Christopher Patrick of Salem and his stepsister Deanne (Mark) McCurdy of Ellsworth; nieces Robin Patrick, Ashley Henry, Samantha Henry, Markie McCurdy, Rayne Blakeman, and Carly Patrick; a nephew Jason Patrick, and his pet cats Maverick, Junie, and Cashmere. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9PM Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at the funeral home.
