Guy E. Titler

Funeral services will be held 10 AM Tuesday at Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Guy E. Titler of Austintown who passed away Saturday evening at his residence. Guy was born August 26, 1921 in Newell, PA a son of Mark and Lillian (Jones) Titler and came to this area in 1940. He was a melter for Republic Steel for 30 years retiring in 1977. Guy attended the Cornersburg Baptist Church, was a member of the American Legion Post 301 and a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII serving four years as an Aviation Ordinanceman with Squadron 208 of the Asiatic Pacific Fleet where he received the Air Medal and Distinguished Flying Cross. He is survived by his second wife the former Betty Sharpnack Stevenson whom he married in 1973. Three children Guy (Liz) Titler of Madison, OH, Tod (Penny) Titler of Brockport, PA, and Kelly Titler of Niagara Falls, NY; a step daughter Janet (Paul) Gieder of Pittsburgh, PA; one brother Clyde Titler of Morristown, PA; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife Audrey who passed away in 1969; one grandson; two sisters Lois Gatte and Gladys Joseph; and five brothers Mark, Roy, Dale, and Ray Titler and Jim Olsen. Friends may call at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel from 6-9 PM on Monday evening and from 9-10 AM Tuesday morning prior to the services.
