Gwendolyn Sikorski, age 93 passed away November 4, 2016 at Gillette Nursing Home in Warren. Gwen was born in Cleveland on July 21, 1923 to Albert & Lenna (Croft) Babcock. She married Joseph Sikorski on July 25, 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1982. Gwen spent her career working in assembly for GE before retiring in 1989; however her true passion was art. She attended the Art Students League Art School in New York, and in 1941 her talent allowed her to craft a mold of Bob Feller's pitching hand. Visit with Gwen's family on Monday November 7th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel; 164 N. High Street, Cortland where a funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 noon. Gwen is survived by her cousins Tom (Linda) Thayer and Bonnie Thayer, her dearest friend & caregiver Eleanor Anderson and her extended family Lori (Dominic) Vaccar, Sherry (Pete) Leasure, 5 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, Gwen was preceded in death by her brother Durward "Dude" Babcock and dear friend Rose Vaccar-Flesch.
