Harold Edwin Cole

H. Edwin "Ed" Cole, 83, passed away on Thursday July 23, 2015 at Sharon Regional Hospital in Sharon, PA, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Ed was born on April 1, 1932 in Sharon, PA, a son of the late Harold C. Cole and Prudence H. (Stewart) Cole. He was a 1950 graduate of Sharon High School. He was employed with Conrail as a railroad engineer from 1950 until he retired in 1995. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Sharon, PA. Ed enjoyed to spend time outside; especially doing landscaping and working on his Koi pond. Ed will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Barbara J. (Heasley) Cole, whom he married in 1951; two sons, Paul Cole of Brookfield and Jeff (Mary Cole) of Hubbard; two grandchildren, Jennifer (Mitch) Cole Dolenic of Oklahoma and Caitlin Cole of Hubbard; one sister Mildred (Art) Lanford of Michigan; two brothers, Willis Cole of Sharpsville and David Cole of Sharpsville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at 11:00AM at First United Methodist Church in Sharon, PA with Pastor Shaffer officiating. Family and friends may call from 5-7:00PM on Monday July 27, 2015 at Lane Family Funeral Homes Madasz Chapel in Brookfield, OH.
