Harold L. Richards

Harold "Lee" Richards, of Cortland, OH passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Hospice House in Poland following a brief illness. He was 72 years old. Mr. Richards was born on June 16, 1940 in New Martinsville, WV the son of the late Harold and Zeda (Resseger) Richards. He was a service man with Packard Electric retiring in 1999 after 31 years of service. But above all other jobs, Lee enjoyed golf, his family, reading Westerns and fishing. Lee was a veteran of the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during peace time. He was a lifetime member of the AmVets #290. Lee will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 35 years the former Louise Clayton whom he married on January 22, 1977. He is also survived by Suzanne (Lenny) Santagata of Warren, John (Phyllis) Schuster of Niles, William (MaryBeth) Schuster of Farrell, Linda Schuster of Cortland, Joanne (Rodney) Stevens of Fowler, Dianne Schuster (Bill Kloboves) of Champion and Lora Lee Richards of Akron; a sister-in-law Joyce Richards of Warren; 2 brothers; 5 sisters; 12 grandchildren and 16 1/2 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, Lee was preceded in death by a brother Pete Richards and a step-son David T. Schuster. Calling hours for friends and family will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013 from 12:00-2:00PM at the Madasz Funeral Chapel 6923 Warren-Sharon Road Brookfield, OH 44403 (330) 448-6969. A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor John Talkington officiating. As an expression of sympathy the family requests that contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
