Harriette "Lorri" Whitt was reunited in heaven with her husband, Bill, on Wednesday night December 26, 2012. She was born February 8th in Knoxville, TN, the daughter of Herbert and Betty Holt Baker. Lorri was first and foremost a military wife, mother and grandmother. She was the backbone of the family during the Viet Nam and Korean conflicts, and also during the Berlin Wall rising. Dad was in the military serving his country, but Mom was the "general" at home. Together they traveled to many destinations during his 22 years of military career. When the family was unable to be where Dad was stationed, we always returned to Niles. Besides running the home Mom volunteered her time at St. Stephen School, the Augsburg, Germany post library and helping little ones read at Mt. Carmel. Mama and Papa, as they were affectionately known, loved to travel in their retirement years visiting many former presidents' homes. Their favorite run away place was the Biltmore house in Asheville, North Carolina. Moms most treasured trip after Papa had passed was to Jerusalem with her daughter, Pam and then later her trips to New York City to see Broadway shows with her granddaughter, Kerrianne. Most of all they were very proud of their four daughters; Deborah Kovell, Pamela (James) Tulanko, Anne (Bill) Maus, and Lyn (Mike Rouzzo) Esler. Thirteen grandchildren; Michael, Kerrianne, Stephen, Jayne-Anne, Christopher, Amanda, Erica, Nick, Will, Michaela, Drew, Connor, and Hayden were her joy. Mama and Papa attended more sporting events with their "lawn chairs" than we can count. Then along came the great grandchildren; Claire, Cole, Cheyenne, Madison, Jordan, Logan, Sebastian, Alixondra, Maximus, and Benjamin. These were the little ones that came along to make Mama smile and laugh after Papa was gone. Lorri also leaves behind a sister and two brothers; Marilyn Serotko, Herbert (Norma) Baker, and Howard (Shirley) Baker. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Alfred "Bill" Whitt, Parents; Herbert Baker and Betty and John Patterson. Also a her baby sister, Trula Imogene, a son in law Joe Kovell and a brother in law; John Serotko. Visitation will be Sunday, December 30, 2012 from 11:00am-1:00pm, and A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Mineral Ridge Chapel. Interment will be Private at Kerr Cemetery on Monday, December 31, 2012
