Harvard C. Smith

Harvard C. Smith of Vienna, OH passed away at 10:25 AM Thursday, May 20, 2010 at Autumn Hills Nursing Home in Niles, OH. He was 87 years old. Mr. Smith was born on July 15, 1922 Buffalo, NY the son of the late Mason A. and Mae (Alday) Smith. He married Mildred E. Savage on February 23, 1979 and has shared more than thirty-one years of marriage with her. He was a former member of the Vienna Baptist Church had worked as an Inspector for the General Motors Engine Plant in Buffalo, NY for many years. In his leisure time he enjoyed spending time going fishing. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife Mildred at home; two sons Thomas W. Smith of Pompano Beach, FL, and David L. Smith of Niles, OH; his daughter Susanna Kiblen of Lake Zurich, IL; his step-son James “Grubb” L. Gravink of Yankee Lake, OH; and by his brother Warren Smith of Sherman, NY. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his, son Daniel M. Smith, his brother Ronald Smith, and by his sister Joan A. Karges. There will be no calling hours or funeral services. Arrangements were handled by Lane Funeral Home Madasz Chapel, Brookfield, OH. The family suggests contributions be made to American Cancer Society.
