Private services were held for Hazel I. Modarelli, 85 of Niles who passed away Saturday evening at her home. Hazel was born July 16, 1922 in Warren the daughter of Cornelius and Irene (Webb) Chandler. She was a lifelong area resident, a homemaker, loving wife and mother, and attended the Salvation Army in Warren. During WWII Hazel worked at the Lordstown Depot packing tools for the soldiers. Her husband James Modarelli whom she married in 1948 passed away in December if 1976. She leaves two children Richard J. Modarelli with whom she made her home, and Linda Modarelli of Niles, one sister Marion Drummond of Warren, and two grandchildren. Besides her husband, Hazel was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Howard J. and Walter Chandler. There were no calling hours. Arrangements are by Lane Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel.
