Heather Winyard Mccarthy

Heather Winyard McCarthy, 44 of Howland Township, died Friday evening, August 21, 2015, at her home. She was born September 14, 1970 in Warren, the daughter of the late Art H. Winyard Jr. and Nina L. Rudy Winyard of Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Heather was raised in Cortland and had lived in North Carolina and Virginia for many years with her husband, Chris and family. She was a 1988 graduate of Howland Christian Schools and graduated from the Kent State University College of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse for over 20 years, most recently at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge. Heather is survived by her husband, Christopher S. McCarthy, whom she married April 8, 1995; one daughter, Kate E. McCarthy and one son, Sean P. McCarthy both at home; her mother, Nina L. Winyard of Rocky Mount; one sister, Lori Winyard of Lambertville, N.J. and one brother, Mark Winyard of Lexington, NC. A memorial service to celebrate Heather's life will be held Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 3 p.m. at North Mar C&MA Church, 3855 East Market St. in Warren, where the family will greet friends from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the service. Heather's uncle, Pastor Rodney Winyard will officiate. Arrangements were entrusted to Lane Family Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel in Cortland. In lieu of flowers, monetary contributions in memory of Heather may be made to the Rich Center for Autism at Youngstown State University, 1 University Plaza, Youngstown, OH 44555.
