Helen Brody, 88, of Warren passed away in the emergency room at Trumbull Memorial Hospital 2: 43 AM Wed, Aug. 11, 2010 after suffering a massive heart attack. She was born March 6, 1922 in Donora, PA one of eight children to Mr. and Mrs. Smerick. Helen graduated from high school and was a classic "Rosie the Riveter" working in the steel mill in Donora during WW II. A Warren area resident for 45 years coming from Donora, she was a long time member of Sts Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. She was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed cooking and gardening. Her husband of 58 years, John, whom she married June 15, 1946, preceded her in death Jan. 8, 2005. She also was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 3 brothers. Helen will be sadly missed by a daughter Martha (Patrick) Corcoran of Reynoldsburg, OH, granddaughter Karen Corcoran of Columbus, grandson Dennis (Krissy) Corcoran of Pickerington, OH, a sister Irene Nichalonco of Donora, PA, and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 6-8 PM Sunday, Aug. 15 and 9 to 9:30 AM Monday, Aug. 16, 2010 at Roberts-Clark Chapel. The Rev. Andrew Deskevich will conduct a prayer service 9:30 AM Monday at the funeral home followed by a funeral service at 10:00 at Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church. Cremation will follow. The family suggests material contributions be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Church 180 Belvedere Ave. NE Warren, OH 44483.
