Helen Edna Mindek, 84, of Warren passed away Saturday morning, November 14, 2009 with her family by her side in the Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born October 22, 1925 in Keisterville, PA Helen was the daughter of the late Vasil and Mary (Lapko) Selanik. Helen worked as a waitress at both Paul's Lunch and the 88 Keys restaurants for many years as well as being a homemaker. She was a member of the St. John's Orthodox Church Oca and enjoyed Bingo, fishing, and gardening. Most of all Helen adored her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by two sons James Giampapa of Key West, FL, and Charles "Chuck" (Christine) O'Brien of Warren, 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 18 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband John Mindek, a daughter Kathleen Marie (O'Brien) Ives, two brothers Charlie and Nick Selanik and three sisters, Pauline Stechko, Mary Check and Anne Kuritz. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 7PM at the St. John's Orthodox Church Oca where a Parastas service will be held at 7PM. The Rev. Jonathan H. Cholcher will officiate a funeral service Wednesday morning, November 18, 2009 at 11AM at the church. Burial will take place in the Pineview Memorial Park. The family has entrusted arrangements to the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel
