Helen Elizabeth Cessna

Helen E. Cessna, age 87, of Howland Township went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 7th at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren. She was attended in her last hours by her daughter and son and several nieces and nephews. She was born January 1, 1919 in Akron, Ohio the daughter of Thomas W. and Minnie W. (Francisco) Callahan. Helen lived most of her life in the Warren area and in March 1939, she married William A. Cessna who preceded her in death November 6, 1998. Helen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed life. She loved dancing, spending time with her grandchildren and traveled extensively with her husband for many years throughout the U.S. and Canada. Her sense of humor and sunny disposition were a source of joy to us all and were evident even to the end. Helen is survived by her daughter, Loretta E. Cessna and son, Gary L. Cessna both of Howland and son William J. Cessna; grandchildren, Dwayne E. Scott and Denise R. Scott of Spring, TX and James Pizzouli of Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by two brothers. Arrangements are being handled by Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel in Cortland. There will be no calling hours and cremation was held. Burial will be at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna.
