Helen Elizabeth Watson, age 84, of Johnston, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 8, 2016 at 3:45 a.m. at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. Helen was born December 6, 1931 in Idamay, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Lewis and Julianna (Maruse) Boros. Helen was a proud member of Johnston Federated United Methodist Church and participated for years , putting on puppet shows and reading to the children. She owned and operated Kinsman and Johnston second hand stores for over 20 years. In her free time she enjoyed bowling, cooking for her family, gardening and canning. She leaves behind her two children: Kenneth (Connie) Watson of Johnston and Linda (Paul) Skinner of Xenia, four grandchildren: Matthew Watson, Christopher (Becca) Bell, Tommy (Maggie) Skinner, and Valerie (Eli) Zenner. Helen also leaves behind her two sisters: Margaret Fitzhugh and Irma Castleberry. Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Walter Kenneth Watson. They were married on August 11, 1951. Walter passed away on July 16, 2014. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Mark Watson and five brothers: Billy, Steve, Louis, Andy and Johnny. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lane Family Funeral Homes-Shafer-Winans Chapel, 164 N. High St. Cortland. Pastor Ron McIlvaine will officiate.
