Helen L. Blackburn

Private services were held for Helen L. Blackburn, 87, of Youngstown, formerly of Austintown Twp., who passed away Wednesday morning, June 6, at Omni Manor Care Center. Helen was born December 30, 1930 in Youngstown the daughter of the late Michael and Johanna (Neuner) Brenner and was a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of Austintown Fitch High School, class of 1949. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Helen was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, and a member of the Saxon Club, Branch #22 in Youngstown. Her husband Edgar Blackburn whom she married January 28, 1950, passed away June 5, 1998. Helen leaves two children, Gary Blackburn and Wendy (Richard) Zysk both of Austintown as well as two grandsons Elijah and Travis Blackburn. Besides her parents and her husband, Helen was preceded in death by two sisters, Johanna Kennedy and Hermina Pollock, and three brothers, Michael, John and Andrew Brenner.
