Helen L. Hray, 98, passed away Wednesday evening February 17, 2016 at Windsor House in Champion, OH. Helen was born on April 10, 1917 in Enon Valley, PA, a daughter of the late Anthony and Caroline (Skule) Ciber. She has lived in the Warren area since 1935 and married her husband, Michael Hray, in 1937. She was a graduate of Mt. Jackson PA High School. She continued her education by graduating from New Castle Business College and attended Kent State University. She taught at Christ Our King School, worked for Warren Telephone Company, and retired from St. Joseph's Hospital after 27 years holding multiple positions. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Warren and served on the board of St. Mary's Senior Club. She served as the secretary for Howland Silver and Gold and was active with Scope. In her spare time she enjoyed doing needlework, listening to classical music, and taking care of her flower and vegetable gardens. Helen will be deeply missed by her children Dorothey Hray of Maryville, TN, Jeanne (Philip) Sidoti of Warren, Richard (Karen) Hray of Champion, and David (Mary) Hray of Howland; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by her sister Lillian Glavic of Struthers, OH. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Hray who passed away October 31, 1981; and her two sisters, Caroline Peloza and Mary Weeder. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday February 20, 2016 at 10:00AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church located at 301 High Street NE in Warren, OH. Family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church. Entombment will take place at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna, OH where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
