Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 21, 2011 at Canfield United Methodist Church for Helen M. Taylor, 87 of Canfield who died Sunday evening at Briarfield Manor. Helen was born April 26, 1924 in Cleveland, a daughter of the late Aaron and Laura L. Randall Gorham. She was retired a postal carrier having worked for the Canfield Post Office for 12 years. Helen was a member of Pythian Sisters, Daughters of America, where she had served as state councilor and the Canfield United Methodist Church where she had served as treasurer. She was an avid pianist and had played for many of the lodge functions. Helen was a very gracious lady and always very cheerful. She will be missed by a host of friends and her family including her son, Alan L. Taylor of Canfield; two grandchildren, Janel (Robert) Rice of Boardman, Aleric Taylor of Akron ; one great grandson, Chester Rice and a sister, Dorothy Morton of Mentor. Besides her parents, Helen was preceded in death June 5, 2007 by her husband, Chester W. Taylor whom she married June 2, 1945 and four sisters, Ruby Strickland, Julia Repass, Ruth Bair and Alice Welch. Friends may call of Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Friday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Lane Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel.
