Helen R. Carroll of Vienna, Ohio, died Friday (5-12-2006) in the St. Joseph Medical Center, Warren after an extended illness. She was 78. Mrs. Carroll was born in Warren, Ohio on January 9, 1928, a daughter of Clarence R. and Ruth (Titus) Consider. She graduated from Vienna High School in 1946 and had worked for the Mahoning Country Club, Holiday Inn Metroplex, and Copperweld Steel. Helen attended the Vienna United Methodist Church where she helped as a door greeter and she worked in the kitchen cooking for all the dinners. She was well known for her coleslaw. In her spare time, Helen enjoyed going to T.O.P.S., Vienna Chapter; reading; quilting; sewing; flowers; gardening; and just being outdoors. She also was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. Survivors include: 3 children, Pamela S. Komray & her husband Richard, Warren, OH, Norbert S. Carroll & his wife Patty, Liberty Twp., OH, and James R. Carroll & his wife Dianne, Vienna, OH; 2 sisters, Martha Timko, Vienna, and Margaret Jenkins, Fowler, OH; brother, Joseph G. Consider, Brookfield, OH; 7 grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer, Jamie, & John Carroll, Rick & Kenny Komray, and David Smith, Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Norbert C. Carroll, whom she married 11-17-1951, he died 5-6-1997; and by her brothers, C. Walter & Charles Consider. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Vienna United Methodist Church, with Rev. Bruce McLaughlin, Pastor. Calling hours will be Monday from 4-8 PM at the Madasz Funeral Chapel, Brookfield. Burial will be in Vienna Township Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Red Cross Blood Unit.
