Herbert A Hall

Herbert A. Hall, 82 of Howland Township, passed away at his home, Tuesday evening, September 14, 2010 after an extended illness. Born December 21, 1927 in Pittsburgh, PA he was the son of the late Louis and Elizabeth (Wahl) Hall. Herbert was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps. He retired in 1993 from Packard Electric where he worked for 19 years. Herbert also worked at Peerless Electric for 24 years, Wean United, GE in Youngstown, and RMI as a machinist. Herbert was a former president of the United Steelworkers Local 5962, he coached girls softball for the Howland Athletic Club and enjoyed woodworking. Herbert was a charter member of Living Lord Lutheran Church where he served as trustee, usher, and Sunday school superintendant. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Mary Lou (Miller) Hall of Howland whom he married July 30, 1949 and shared 61 years of marriage, three daughters, Lynda (Steve) Chos of McDonald, Kitty (Rick) Hodinka of Springfield, PA, Shelly (Denny) McMahon of Olmstead Falls, OH, five grandsons, Corey McMahon, Ryan Hodinka, Colin McMahon, Tyler Hodinka, and Brett Hodinka, and one brother Robert Hall of Pittsburgh. He was preceded in death by a sister Gertrude Mulroney. Calling hours will be Friday evening from 7 until 9PM at the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel. The Rev. William Leitch will conduct a funeral service Saturday morning, September 18, 2010 at 11AM at Living Lord Lutheran Church where family and friends may visit for one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will take place in the Crown Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make material contributions to the Living Lord Lutheran Church, The American Cancer Society C/O the Liberty Relay For Life Team, or to Hospice of the Valley.
