Hilda J. Jefferies

Hilda Jean "JoJo" Jefferies, 57, of Canfield, passed away December 31, 2013 in Youngstown. She was born November 9, 1956 in Bellaire, OH, daughter of Calvin, Sr. and Dorcas Faye (Wright) Jefferies. JoJo previously attended the Gravel Hill School in Bellaire, she was a big football fan who loved the Big Reds football team. She loved the dog she had in the past "Little Chief" and enjoyed watching Law and Order on TV, painting by numbers, knitting and coloring. She enjoyed country music, going out to dinner, especially Golden Coral, going to the beauty shop to get her hair done, shopping and buying new outfits and attending the Meshel Masco and YDC dances. Hilda enjoyed having parties and working at Gateways' Industries doing piece work. She previously resided at North Lights Group Home and has been a resident of Gateways to Better Living, Inc. since 2009. She is survived by her siblings; Grace Montgomery of Steubenville, OH, John Wayne Wright of Bellaire, OH, Sharon Schybal of Bridgeport, OH, Clara Livingston of Youngstown, OH, Dorcas Gillam of Weirton, WV, Calvin Jefferies, Jr. of Bellaire, OH, Gregory Jefferies of Bellaire, OH, Juanita Judie of Bellaire, OH, Randi Ray of Bellaire, OH, Brenda Taylor of Cincinnati, OH and Linda Jefferies of Kentucky, as well as all her friends and caretakers at Gateways. She was preceded in death by her parents; maternal grandparents, George and Grace Wright; fraternal grandparents; George, Sr. and Clara Mae Jefferies; brother, Robert David Jefferies and a nephew, Joseph Livingston. The family will receive friends at the Lane Family Funeral Home, 5797 Mahoning Ave. Austintown, OH 44515 from 12:30 1:30PM Saturday, January 4, 2014. A funeral service will follow at 1:30 PM at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank all the staff at Gateways for loving and taking care of her, as well as the staff at St. Elizabeth's Hospital.
