Hilda Sprigg went to be home with the Lord Saturday April 28, 2007 She was born May 14, 1924 in Ashtabula a daughter of the late George and Susan (Varga) Gegen. She moved to Lordstown from Ashtabula in 1965, and most recently worked in food services at the General Motors Plant. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and loved all animals, especially dogs. She is survived by her only daughter Susan Sprigg of Lordstown; a very special friend Richard Spokane; a number of nieces and nephews: Margaret Jean (Jim) Saj, Charles S. (Grace) Sprigg Jr., John (Darlene) Gegen, Steven (Sandy) Gegen, Pat (Cliff) Mealey, Cynthia (Eric) Johnson, Cheryl (Bob) Rocco, and David (Debbie) Cross;. Besides her parents Hilda is preceded in death by four sisters: Mary Sprigg, Helen Casey, Margaret Gegen, and Elizabeth Niemi; and four brothers: Joseph (her twin) Nick, Andrew, and Steve Gegen; a niece Franceen Brown; and a nephew William Martin Niemi. Friends may call from 5 until 8 PM Wednesday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel. There will be a graveside service 11 AM Thursday at Edgewood Cemetery in Ashtabula. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3695 Boardman Canfield Rd, Suite 301 B, Canfield, OH 44406, in Hilda’s name.
